B110 Seal Bay Armoury Renovations and Additions - Canadian Forces Base Comox

The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing a project which will involve the building of a new single story addition (395 square meter gross area) to the east of the existing building. The existing structure will be seismically upgraded and hazardous building material will need to be removed or abated prior to new construction activities taking place based on the findings of a hazardous material assessment completed in 2021. A new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system will replace the existing system and sized to service the building expansion. The proposed building addition is located on the existing septic field, the septic field will be removed and a replacement constructed.

April 19, 2023 – The public comment period on the project is closed. The Department of National Defence is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
