Magnetawan First Nation - Water Treatment Plant and Storage Upgrades

Magnetawan First Nation is proposing a Water Treatment Plant and Storage Upgrades Project at their community. The proposed physical activities for the project will include: site preparation; replacement of intake structures at the Magnetawan River; upgrades to the existing low lift pump; construction of the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and storage reservoir on a developed lot; upsizing of the existing watermain; decommissioning of treatment equipment inside the existing WTP (without demolition); and site restoration.

Latest update

November 14, 2023 - The public comment period on the project is closed. Indigenous Services Canada issued its notice of determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause adverse environmental effects.

October 18, 2022 – Indigenous Services Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting public comments until November 18, 2022 respecting the determination.
