Shilling Subdivision Chippewas of Rama First Nation

Chippewas of Rama First Nation is located on the east side of Lake Couchiching approximately 140 kilometers north of Toronto. Chippewas of Rama First Nation is proposing the development and servicing of a subdivision comprised of 27 houses located on reserve starting in the Spring of 2023 and concluding in the Fall. This project is intended to satisfy the community's need for immediate housing. The area in which this project will occur is currently partially developed land. The project will consist of clearing the land of existing  vegetation and installing all infrastructure required for a subdivision, including but not limited to: electrical utilities, water piping, septic systems, road creation and resurfacing and landscaping. 

 

Notice of  Determination 

 

January 03, 2023 – Indigenous Services Canada issued its notice of determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
