Shippagan Containment Cell and Basin Dredging

The proposed project will include the construction of a new containment cell and dredging of the harbour basin. The new containment cell will be constructed below the high water mark adjacent to wharf structure 414. The new cell will measure approximately 130m long by 96m wide, for a total footprint of approximately 13,200m2. The walls of the cell will be constructed to a height of 4.5m above chart datum and will be comprised of filter, core and armour stone. Once constructed, dredging of the harbour basin will commence with cutter suction dredge equipment or mechanical dredge equipment (depending on contractor), with the dredged material being disposed of into the newly constructed cell. The total area to be dredged is approximately 24,000m2, with a total dredge volume of approximately 30,000m3.
