Roof Replacements, Various Buildings - Canadian Forces Base Halifax

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project which aims to replace several roofs at Her Majesty's Canadian Dockyard and Shearwater that are presently in poor condition. Project activities will generally include hazardous materials abatement, removal of the existing roofing systems down to structural decks, installation of new 2 ply modified bitumen roofing systems, removal and reinstallation of existing electrical and mechanical systems where required, installation of new roof drains where required, and replacement of existing roof stairs or ladders where required. The proposed roof replacements are expected to take place in Fiscal Year 2021-2022.

January  4, 2022– The Department of National Defence issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
