Installation of Diving Aid - Canadian Forces Maritime Experimental and Test Ranges (CFMETR), Nanoose Bay

The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing to install a permanent diving aid adjacent (~40 feet depth) to the Ranch Point float at DND's Canadian Forces Maritime Experimental and Test Ranges (CFMETR) in Nanoose Bay, BC. The diving aid is an uncoated aluminum boat shell, approximately 16 feet long, 6 feet wide and 6 feet tall. RCMP divers will use the shell for underwater recovery training. Once installed, RCMP divers would attach lift bags to the training aid at various points; the aid would be lifted to surface and then placed back into its previous location. CFMETR is located on the east side of Vancouver Island, ~20km south of Parksville, BC and ~30km north of Nanaimo, BC.
