Shoreline stabilization at Cité du Havre, Port of Montreal

Signs of erosion and instability have been found in some areas on the embankment located in front of the Montreal Port Authority (MPA) administrative buildings in Cité du Havre. To address this issue, the MPA seeks to stabilize a portion of the shoreline and improve it.

The work includes removing trees that are harming the stability of the river slopes and dead trees, correcting zones with riprap (loose stone used to form a foundation for a breakwater or other structure), installing a wire mesh (Geobrugg system or equivalent) and anchors, laying topsoil and a plant mat, and hydroseeding the area. The work will be completed by planting greenery and some trees at the top of the embankment.
