Base Refueling Point Tank Replacement

Work under this project includes all permits, materials, labor, transportation, equipment and all other items and services required to decommission, demolish and remove from site one (1) 25000L and one (1) 50000L diesel fuel storage tank and install one (1) 75000L diesel fuel storage tank at the Base re-fueling point near building N-132 as well as replace 2 fuel pumps and associated piping at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Shilo, Manitoba. This work includes, but not necessarily limited to: Disconnect existing piping, pumps and associated wiring, decommissioning, removal and demolishing of existing diesel fuel storage tanks, extend existing gravel pad under 50000L tank to accommodate new 75000L tank, install new 75000L diesel fuel storage tank, re-install existing pumps, piping and associated wiring and commissioning new tank for use. Contractor to provide completed federal and provincial regulatory forms required to have tank certified for service.

March 2, 2021 – The public comment period on the project is closed. The Department of National Defence is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
