Paudash Street Reconstruction

The project will rehabilitate approximately two-kilometres of Paudash Street between Cowe Street and Lakeshore Road in Hiawatha, Ontario. More specifically the project work will consist of regrading the gravel shoulders; improving drainage by replacing 30 culverts underneath the road and installing a 200 metre perforated high-density sub-drain on the north side; and resurfacing the road with asphalt. A new, two-kilometre, multi-use pathway will also be installed along the north side of the roadway with 40 street lights. The project will improve safety for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, address drainage issues, facilitate active transportation and extend the life of the roadway. The scope of the Project includes surfacing, ditching, replacement of culverts, lighting and a multi-use pathway on the north side of Paudash Street. The Project aims to improve roadway safety, address drainage issues, and improve the multi-use pathway for pedestrians and cyclists.
