The project consists of a residential development of 55 single-family residential units, which would be served by water, domestic sewer and storm sewer services. The impacted area represents approximately 27.6 hectares of land.

Notice of determination

2021-11-12– Indigenous Services Canada has determined that the proposed project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

The determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

  • Technically and economically feasible mitigation measures
  • Carrying-out compensatory works.

Implementation of mitigation measures is required for the project to address:

  • Protection of migratory birds
  • Wetland protection
  • Surface water protection
  • Groundwater protection
  • Fish Habitat Protection
  • Soil protection
  • Air protection
  • Well-being and safety of the population
  • Wildlife protection
  • Flora protection
  • Carrying-out compensatory works

Indigenous Services Canada is satisfied that that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. Environmental effects that are within provincial jurisdiction would be addressed through provincial regulations.

Therefore, Indigenous Services Canada may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part..
