Demolition of Building WP1119 at Work Point – Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Esquimalt

August 9, 2022 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project which will involve the demolition of a building. Building WP1119 is a 2294 square meter building that is located in the industrial area of Work Point and was constructed in 1943. It has reached the end of its life cycle and is scheduled to be demolished. Adjacent asphalt parking areas will be used for staging and laydown.
