Overview of the Impact Assessment Act

Goal

    The goal of the course is to provide participants with an overview of the Impact Assessment Act and its regulations. It will cover: process steps and objectives; timelines; participants' roles and responsibilities; new impact assessment factors to be considered; and decision-making.

    Individuals interested in understanding the impact assessment process.

Outcomes and Benefits

    This course will:

  • provide participants with an overview of the key elements of the Impact Assessment Act and its regulations
  • inform participants about how impact assessments are conducted by the Government of Canada

    NOTE: this course is a pre-requisite for the Advanced Training in Impact assessment course.
