Regulations Required to Implement the Proposed Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) is seeking public comment on proposed regulations required to implement the proposed Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012.

The proposed Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012 provides an improved federal environmental assessment process that focuses on major projects that have the potential to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

The regulations under development will prescribe:

• the information to be included in a project description; and
• the services and amounts for which the Agency could recover costs from the proponent of a project undergoing an environmental assessment by a review panel.

This consultation period is now closed.

Interested parties are invited to provide comments in the official language of their choice by May 23, 2012 to:
